About
Kayla Seguin – Photographer Based in Calgary, AB, Canada
I’m a photographer who’s always on the move—based in Calgary, AB, but constantly traveling the world to capture moments that celebrate life, beauty, and the magic of the human experience. My journey into photography began in a deeply personal way: watching my grandmother go through dementia made me acutely aware of how fleeting moments can be. I became determined to capture every precious memory and create images filled with joy, laughter, beauty, and above all, hope.
My photography is driven by a simple yet powerful goal: to capture an energy that transcends the surface. I don't just take pictures—I aim to evoke curiosity, happiness, and a sense of wanderlust. In a world full of staged and curated moments, I want my work to reconnect people with the true joy of life, encouraging them to embrace the unfiltered beauty around them.
Inspired by my grandmother and the incredible people I meet on my travels, I find deep fulfillment in capturing raw emotions and telling stories through my lens. Each photograph is a window into a moment, a feeling, or a place that invites the viewer to see the world through my eyes—an invitation to embrace the wonder, adventure, and simple pleasures that life has to offer.
Though I don’t yet have a long list of formal accomplishments, my photography has already led me to unforgettable experiences and connections. I’ve been fortunate enough to photograph everything from everyday life to extraordinary travels, each time hoping to share the same happiness and wonder I feel.
When you view my work, I want you to feel inspired. I want you to notice the beauty in the world that’s so often overlooked, and maybe—just maybe—feel encouraged to step outside, explore, and experience life more fully. My photography is my way of sharing my own happiness with as many people as possible.
When I’m not behind the camera, you can find me boating, snorkeling, hiking, exploring new places with my dog Teaka, spending time with my family, or indulging in my love for pottery and painting. Life is too short to not dive deep into every adventure, and photography helps me document the richness of it all.
